Unidentified persons killed a young man named Sharif Mia (20) inside a mosque in Rupganj of Narayanganj and fled.
The murder took place inside the Chowdhurypara Jame Mosque in Kanchan Municipality of the upazila on Friday (September 17) morning. The deceased was identified as Sharif Mia, son of late Abdul Halim of Birabo Khalpar area of the upazila.
Citing family and locals, police said locals saw the bloody body in the distribution of Chowdhurypara Jame Mosque on Friday morning. After receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the spot at around 8 am and sent it to the morgue of Narayanganj Sadar General Hospital.
Bholab police outpost sub-inspector (SI) Aminul Islam said the murder took place last night. The body has been sent to Narayanganj morgue for autopsy. Preparations are underway to file a case.
