Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun
Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun today said there will be no barrier to holding political programmes but if anyone tries to create anarchy, police will take action against them.
The police chief said this while talking to journalists after visiting Ramkrishna Mission's Durga Puja Mandap in Narayanganj tonight, reports our local correspondent.
He said, "Those who want to hold political programmes can do it. But police are ready to ensure the safety of people and government assets. Action will be taken against those who will try to create any threat to people's lives and security."
The IGP said although there is no specific security threat centring the Durga Puja, police have taken stringent security measures across the country considering all kinds of situations.
Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque and Superintendent of Police Golam Mostofa Russel were also present.
