US Ambassador Peter Haas
Narayanganj: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas thinks that Bangladesh is a big potential market for the import of US agricultural products. Peter Haas also said that he will think about giving special benefits to Bangladesh in the import of agricultural products.
US Ambassador Peter Haas said these things while talking to mediapersons after visiting several industrial establishments in Meghna Industrial Zone in Meghna Ghat area of Narayanganj on Tuesday (February 28).
During the visit, the US ambassador saw with his own eyes the high quality soybean meal, rapeseed cake, extruded full fat (soybean), soybean hull, liquid lecithin, powder lecithin and lecithin oil produced at the Sonargaon Seeds Crushing Mills Limited factory.
Peter Haas also said that we are really happy to be able to export a large amount of agricultural products to Bangladesh. Bangladesh is one of the ten largest exporters of American agricultural products. American soybeans are the best soybeans among different countries in the world. Bangladesh imports the bulk of its soybean requirements from America, which is a pleasure.
During the visit to various institutions of Meghna Industrial Zone, US Ambassador, Agricultural Attache Megan Francis, Director of MGI, Tahmina Mostafa, Senior Executive Director Taif Bin Yousuf and senior officials of MGI were also present with the US Ambassador as tour companions.
