Her final election rally before the January 7 polls took place at Isdair’s Shamsuzzoha sports complex grounds on Thursday (Jan 4) afternoon.
She started her speech at around 3:30pm, barely half an hour before the call for Asr prayers. As the muezzin started reciting the azan, the prime minister stopped her address.
“Azan is going on,” she said. The participants of the rally also remained silent during the call for prayer.
Hasina finished her speech after azan, urging the people to vote for her party.
It was her first visit to Narayanganj in 15 years.
Prime Minister Hasina’s Awami League is looking to extend its run in office through the January 7 polls.
