Low likely to form over Bay, rainfall to increase

Rainfall across the country may increase in the next 72 hours or within three days, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in a weather forecast on Thursday.

According to the Met Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna & Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Besides, day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

Meanwhile, the weather bulletin says “a low-pressure area is likely to form” over North Bay in the next 24 hours. For this, the monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

The country’s highest temperature recorded 35.5°C yesterday at Tetulia in the Rangpur division while today’s minimum temperature recorded 24.2°C at Tangail in the Dhaka division. The highest rainfall was recorded at 27 mm at Sylhet and Satkhira in the Khulna division.

Today’s sunset will be at 6:47 pm and Tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:23 am.
